About Namdapha Rainforest

Namdapha National Park is one of the most biodiverse protected areas on earth, compressing the ecology of an entire subcontinent into a single mountain-to-jungle gradient that spans 4300 metres of altitude. It is the only park in the world known to harbour all four species of big cat — tiger, leopard, clouded leopard, and snow leopard — in a single landscape. The rainforest here is largely unexplored by scientists, and new species of plants, insects, and even vertebrates continue to be discovered in this remote corner of the Eastern Himalaya.
