About Great Nicobar Rainforest

Great Nicobar Island hosts one of the last truly intact tropical rainforests in the Indian subcontinent, where the Indian Ocean meets the Bay of Bengal in a landscape of extraordinary biological richness. The island's dense rainforest is the hunting ground of the saltwater crocodile and the nesting site of Leatherback turtles on Galathea Bay — the world's largest sea turtles, which have been nesting on these beaches for millions of years. The entire island is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.
