About Trishna Rainforest

Trishna Wildlife Sanctuary in southern Tripura is one of the finest remaining tracts of semi-evergreen forest in the state, bordering Bangladesh and forming an important trans-boundary forest corridor. The sanctuary shelters one of Tripura's most significant gaur populations as well as the rare Phayre's langur, a highly endangered primate endemic to northeast India and adjacent Bangladesh. The sanctuary's gentle hills and river valleys provide accessible wildlife watching in a region that receives very few visitors.
