About Wayanad Rainforest

Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary in Kerala's most elevated plateau district is a forest corridor of national importance, connecting the tiger populations of Nagarahole and Bandipur in Karnataka with the Nilgiri complex in Tamil Nadu. The sanctuary is part of the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve — South Asia's largest biosphere reserve — and the landscape supports one of the largest Asian elephant populations in the world. Wayanad is one of the few areas in India where elephants, tigers, leopards, gaur, and dholes can all be found in the same landscape.
