About Kamlang Rainforest

Kamlang Tiger Reserve in the Lohit district is Arunachal Pradesh's easternmost protected area, bordering Myanmar and protecting a rich tract of tropical semi-evergreen and moist deciduous forest. The Kamlang River flows through the reserve, its banks providing critical habitat for otters, fishing cats, and a variety of waterbirds. The reserve is particularly important for Hoolock gibbons — Asia's only apes — whose morning calls echo across the valleys in some of the most moving sounds in the Indian forest.
