About Intanki Forest

Intanki National Park is Nagaland's sole national park, protecting one of the state's last significant tracts of subtropical semi-evergreen forest in the lowland plains south of Dimapur. The park plays a critical role in maintaining ecological connectivity between Assam's forest blocks and the forests of the Naga Hills. Hoolock gibbons — Asia's only apes — are the most iconic residents, their mournful duets filling the forest at dawn before the calls of competing hornbills and parakeets take over.
