About Nokrek

Nokrek National Park in the Garo Hills is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve centred on the Nokrek Peak, a citadel of extraordinary biodiversity in northeastern India. The park is globally significant as the repository of wild Citrus indica — the ancestor of all cultivated citrus fruits in the world. It also protects one of the easternmost populations of red pandas.
