About Singalila Moist Forest

Singalila National Park sits on the Singalila Ridge at the West Bengal-Nepal border, the highest and most dramatic ridge walk in the eastern Himalaya. The famous Sandakphu trek along the park boundary offers views of four of the world's five highest mountains simultaneously — Everest, Kangchenjunga, Lhotse, and Makalu — on clear winter mornings. The park's high-altitude oak and rhododendron forest, ablaze with colour in April, is prime red panda habitat, with the animals most easily observed in the early morning.
