About Papikonda Rainforest

Papikonda National Park extends along the spectacular gorge of the Godavari River, where the river cuts through the ancient hills of the Eastern Ghats in a series of dramatic bends accessible only by boat. The park's forests — a mix of moist semi-evergreen, tropical moist deciduous, and riverine types — are among the most intact in the Eastern Ghats and provide critical habitat for tigers and the smooth-coated otter along the Godavari's banks. The Papi Hills boat journey through the gorge is one of Andhra Pradesh's most celebrated scenic experiences.
